New Podcast Format: English Preview, Newsletter & Study Guide

🎙️ Podcast Update

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to continue growing this podcast while helping you with language and cultural learning. I want this podcast to be more than just episodes—it’s a space to keep your interest and curiosity alive.

So, starting with this episode, I’m making a few adjustments:

New Podcast & Learning Format

  • Before each Chinese episode, I will release an English preview podcast bi-weekly to give a brief introduction to the upcoming Chinese episode.
  • The newsletter will be released the Tuesday following the Chinese episode.
  • The newsletter will include the English version of the full Chinese episode, helping you better understand the content and context.

I’m so excited to try this brand-new way of doing the podcast! The English previews are designed to give you a quick introduction to the content before the full Chinese episode is released. I’ll share the background and key ideas behind each topic so that when the Chinese episode comes out next week, it will be easier—and hopefully even more enjoyable—to follow along.

For those who like to have the text in front of them or want extra support understanding the episode, I’ll be sharing the English version of each Chinese episode in my newsletter, released on the Tuesday following the Chinese episode. It’s a great resource for beginners or anyone who wants to make sure they don’t miss any details. The newsletter can help clarify any parts of the Chinese episode that might be unclear, and I’ll continue sharing local insights through historical events and stories.

More Complete Learning Resources: Study Guide

If you want a more structured and comprehensive learning experience, you can download the Study Guide, which includes:

  • Transcript
  • Vocabulary
  • Grammar Tips
  • Culture Notes
  • Extension Questions

Subscribing to the Study Guide not only supports this podcast, it also gives you access to all past episodes. Of course, you can unsubscribe anytime.

Every listen and subscription gives me motivation to continue creating. Honestly, my website might not look very professional or fancy, but I built it from scratch, step by step. What keeps me going is a simple desire to share with you, and I hope this platform helps you see how a local Taiwanese person views the world and understands culture.

For now, this platform is mainly podcast and newsletter, but in the future, there may be other types of content to share. One person’s effort is limited, so I truly appreciate all your listening and support. If you have ideas or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

I will continue sharing learning resources on the website so you can listen to the podcast while reading along.
